Timber Harvesting magazine Senior Associate Editor David Abbott reports on his recent visit to the American Loggers Council Annual Meeting. At its annual meeting in early fall, the American Loggers Council adopted a five-year action plan designed to strengthen and grow the 22-year-old organization. Recommended by the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors and accepted by the full body, the plan will be implemented in stages going forward, according to Executive Vice President Danny Dructor, who commented: “The action plan will help steer us in the direction that those we represent have asked for.” One key component of the blueprint is expanding contract communications services via ALC’s web site and various social media. ALC will also begin sending press releases to professional services like PR Newswire.
