Timber Harvesting magazine Associate Editor Jessica Johnson has the opportunity to attend DEMO International, held September 22-24 near Maple Ridge, British Columbia. Anticipation runs high for in-woods demonstrations. The universal truth about them is that they provide a time for manufacturers big and small to showcase exactly what they’ve got in front of a captive and interested audience. What sets DEMO International apart is its size and four-year frequency at a different location. Loggers around the world look forward to the popular Canadian show, which is the flagship event of the Canadian Woodlands Foroum. Held this year near Maple Ridge, BC, this was only the third time Demo International was staged on the West Coast in the 49 years since inception. It took place September 22-24 on the University of British Columbia’s (UBC) Malcolm Knapp Research Forest, a little over an hour’s drive from downtown Vancouver.
